Terminology

While the concepts of “green assets,” “green investors,” and “perpetual conservation” have all been documented and used in academic literature and financial practice, the real innovation of our approach lies in combining them. This allows us to define three core concepts that, together, form an innovative and transformative model.

Title

Green assets

These include “strategic ecosystems” of high ecological value, such as primary and secondary forests, wetlands, mangroves, floodplain savannas, and seasonal grasslands, as well as their associated biodiversity, water resources, and ecosystem services. These ecosystems are transformed into “economic assets” that can attract investment for their long-term conservation.

Title

Perpetual conservation

This means the permanent protection and stewardship of ecosystems and natural resources, ensuring the long-term preservation of their ecological integrity, biodiversity, and ecosystem services, independent of political, economic, or social shifts.

Title

Green investors/ Donors / Sponsors

These are individuals or organizations that allocate financial resources to projects focused on the long-term conservation of green assets.
